They have two teams of six players each and all are either totally or partial- ly blind, The two-ieam league Was started more than ten years ago by members of the Humor- esque club, a group for the blind sponsored by the Greater Oshawa Community Chest, through the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, No one fee seemed to know when the two teams. were formed but then, no one seemed to care -- they were too busy enjoying them- selves. EARLY MEMBER One of the club's early mem- bers, Mrs. W. T. Suddard, who*is partially blind, says: "IT have been bowling for ten years, no, you can say more than ten years." Secretary for the league, and captain of the two teams, is G. "Pat" McConnell of 314 Richmond St. East. Her moth- er, Mrs, James R. 'McConnell, said of her daughter: 'She's been bowling for quite a while now. She seems to enjoy it." The younger McConnell is ably assisted by her mother and Mrs. Thomas McDonough, the league scorekeepers, and by coaches who assist the bowl- ers. It is their job to line up the bowlers on the alley and tell them which pins are still standing. They are assisted in this task by a rail, which serves as both a guide and suport.
