The large (4 by 6 feet) canvas is the work of an internationally known artist, Alexandra Luke, in private life Mrs, C, Ewart McLaughlin of Oshawa. An abstract creation in bold and deep reds, the painting is entitled "Abyss of Time." In making the presentation, Mrs. §. V. Barlow. chairman of the art committee and a past presi- dent of the Lyceum Club, an- nounced that the purchase and presentation of the painting was the club's centennial project 'and a tribute to the artist, a charter member of the club and for many years chairman of the art committee.
