In the dock was William Brent Marshall, 34, of 42 Mont- gomery Ave., Brooklin, who pleaded guilty to gy | the boy Oct. 1. He was fined $50 with costs or 10 days. The incident took place after Marshall's son drove into the 10-year-old's bike and the lat- ter bounced the son's bike two or three times and made him ery. CHARGE REDUCED Three police officers give evidence against Ralph Joseph O'Connell, 56, of 4 Roxville Ate Torenes, Snes pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxi- cated Aug. 12 in Dundas street east, Whitby. Constable Gray said he went to the scene after O'Connell's car struck a water hydrant. His breath smelled of alcohol and police had to use force to get him into a police car. He was struggling and throwing his fists in the air. Magistrate Crawford Guest convicted O'Connell on a re- duced charge of driving while his ability was impaired through drink. He fined him $150 with costs or 10 days and ordered the confiscation of a quantity of spirits found un- opened in the car. THREATS ADMITTED Mrs, Brenda Ewart alleged that a man she knew, Wallace Grineage, of 154 Danforth Ave- nue, Toronto, came into a Pick- ering hair salon Oct. 18 and > Nempaanee to blow her head off. Grineage, who admitted using threats, was bound over in the sum of $200 to keep the peace. Harold Cameron, of 207 Col- borne St. W., Whitby, was sim- ilarly bound over to keep the peace after his wife, Mary, gave evidence that he threaten- ed to hit her and she was afraid he would injure her. JAILED 30 DAYS Stanley Murree, 19, of 119 Lupin Drive, Whitby, was jail- ed for 30 days for driving while disqualified, Sept. 24. Police saw him drive a car into his driveway. Murree had a "'seri- ous record" of driving offences, said the prosecution. SUSPEND SENTENCE Harry Sturner, 62, of 8 Kings- bridge Court, Willowdale, plead- ed not guilty to indecently a local service station Mar.. 19 but was convicted, He was given a suspended sentence and put on probation for a year on condition he re- ceive medical treatment. $100 FIN A car which almost struck another vehicle and then went along Brock St., Whitby, in an erratic manner weaving from side to side attracted an off- duty policeman's attention as a result the driver, Alexander Bovay, 35, of 552 Dundas St. E., Whitby, found himself charged 'with driving while impaired through drink. The arrest was made Sept. 8. Bovay pleaded guilty in court Tuesday and was fined $100 with costs or seven days. BOWMANVILLE -- There was such a heavy court docket here Tuesday that Magistrate R. B.. For Frank Robert Nester and Eric Arthur Smith, Peter- borough, it was $20 and costs, or four days, and for Douglas Maclimoyle and Douglas Wil- liam Wood it was $15 and costs, assaulting a 16-year-old boy ator three days. YOUTH PANICKED A 21-year-old. Oshawa youth, James Gray, of 275 Wentworth street, panicked after his car struck one turning left Sept. 8 and he did not stop. But the other driver pursued Gray's vehicle into Oshawa and had it stopped by police. Gray's failure to remain after the accident to give his name and address cost him $150 with costs or 10 days. He pleaded guilty. B. Baxter. John .Ferguson, Department of National Revenue, told the court he charged Donald Robin- son, who operated under the name of D and R Robinson, with being in arrears $196.19. Horst Hoesnch, under the firm name of Orono Building Contractors, failed to remit $142.41. Both pleaded guilty. Both were fined $200 and costs, or one month. BUILDING INFORMATION An Ebenezer man was con- victed of three infractions of Darlington Township Building bylaw. Magistrate R. B, Baxter fined him $25 and costs, or five days, on each count. Brian Ormiston was repre- sented by J. W. Newman of Newman Construction Limited, and the Township of Darling- ton by E. C. Wildman. Charles Warren, township building inspector, said that when he inspected the building Aug. 24 no access was provided to the crawl space under the foundation and no back fill.
