Writing in Liberal Action, a publication of the Ontario Lib- eral party, Mr. MacKachen|~ says the guaranteed minimum- income approach has the advan: tage that "it can be adopted without subjecting beneficiaries to the various tests which, rightly or wrongly have as- sumed odious connotations to} persons receiving assistance." Oshawa Constable Ross testi- fied after he stopped Schwartz, the driver of a car, to ask for identification, Schwartz put the bottle of beer he had in his hand on the floor beside him. This bottle and another one found in the car were admitted in court as evidence, But Mr. Victor said the crown any beer. Magistrate Jermyn would give Schwartz, pleaded not guilty, the benefit of the doubt and dismiss the charge. But on two further charges of impaired driving and of driving while under suspension, | to which Schwartz pleaded not said he guilty, the court registered con-| victions, Const.
