Hopper Boosts Grain Shipping Greatly In U.S. By ARCH MacKENZix WASHINGTON, (CP)--A spe« cially-built hopper car capable of carrying almost twice as much grain as an ordinary box- car is being introduced into the U.S. railway. system. The development comes at a time when boxcars, as in Can- ada, are often scarce and when U.S. grain, particuiariy wiicat, is streaming to seaports for In- dia famine relief. All-grain trains, called unit trains, are made up of big cov- ered hopper cars--as Many as 50 to 65 or perhaps 100. They go non-stop from loading point to destination.
