g ™ GOHAWA TIMES, Pridey, May 13, 1966 Spotlighting ae THE GENERALS By WREN BLAIR General Manager of Oshawa Generals The current Memorial Cup final has developed into a hard-fought, do-or-die struggie between the Edmonton 'Oil Kings" and Oshawa Generals. The Generals bounced back from a dismal opening game 7-2 defeat to post two impress: ive 7-1 and 6-2 victories. How- ever, Wednesday night the "Oil Kings" knotted the series | at two games apiece with a 5-3 win, in what was probably the best game of the series to- date, Generals, who blew the lead on three successive occasions and it's now anybody's series. Noth- ing short of another all - out effort by the Generals can see them win this/series. In games two and three, the team forechecked Edmonton at every turn with great bursts of speed and hard work. | This has got to be done again | if the local squad is to come up with the much needed yie- | tories. Chris Hayes is playing great hockey in this series as are Barry Wilkins, Pau) Cadieux and Jan Young > « » Danny O'Shea and Wayne Cashman were great leaders in games two and three when Orr was absent. When O'Shea and Cashman are at their best, the Generals are tough to beat , Bill Heind! has had some excellent games in this series as well, while rookie Ron Dus- slaume, had several good games...
