It was built by small children who raid- ed their piggy-banks to donate twenty-five cents, and General Motors raided their bank to do- nate one quarter of a million dollars. In between, workers pledged 49 cents per week to make the financing | of the building one of the most unique achievements in the history of our country, NATIONAL ATTENTION Municipalities all over Can- ada have marvelled at the fact that by paying for the building through public subscription, the taxpayer of this City was saved $1,116,000.00 in debenture and in- terest charges -- an average of $55.00 per person.
