Dick is Chairman of the Centennial Committee which is composed of many members of the Civic Auditor- ium Committee, with additions {from City Council. A life-long resident of the City of Oshawa, Dick graduated | with a Bachelor of Science de- gree from the University of Toronto in 1948. He now. is Assistant Chief Engineer at General Motors, joining that company after graduation. Since 1958 he has steered the committee through the maneuw vers which led to the financing campaign and. eventually the opening of the great new Civie Auditorium, Dick lives within a stone's throw of the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Terence Kelly. Dick has a sincere interest in the recreational and cultural activities proposed for the Cen- tennial project and looks upon the overall complex as the centre of Recreational and Cuk tural activity for future genera- tions.
