LANDER In failing health for six months, Mrs. Douglas H Lander, Thornton's rd. n., died Jan. 6, at the Oshawa General Hospital. She pas in her 63rd year. The former Hazel L. Van Volkenburg, the deceased was a daughter of Mrs. Evalena and the late Elgin Van Volkenburg. She was born at Wagarville, Ont., in 1903 and was married at Brooklin mr 20, 1932. She had been a resident of Oshawa for 45 years. Mrs. Lander was a member of King Street United Church where she had been a member of the choir for many years. She was a life member of the Women's Association of the church and a member of the United Church Women. She was a former member of the Thorn- ton's Corners Women's Associ- ation. Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, who lives in Oshawa and two broth- ers, Leonard and Keith Van Volkenburg, both of Oshawa.
