Sugar Beet Crop Gains CHATHAM (CP)--This year's sugar beet crop in southwest« ern Ontario produced the larg- est per-acre yields in history, Canada and Dominion Sugag Co. officials announced Wed- nesday, G. E. Hrudika, vice-president in charge of the company's Chatham operations, said area beet growers delivered 215,845 tons of sugar beets from 11,028 acres, an average yield of 19.6 tons an acre. The previous record was in 1962 when growers harvested 18.1 tons an acre.
