| Fiuio Manufacturers Now Near 671,000 Units TORONTO (CP) -- Canadian automotive manufacturers are closing in on the 800,000 unit mark, easily surpassing last year's third consecutive produc- tion record of 671,000 units. To date a total of 776,015 cars and trucks have rolled off the assembly lines compared with 625,290 for the same period last year. rlier in the year indus- try officials had predicted that total production would be at least 770,000 units. Part of the rise is attributable to increased exports under the Canada-U.S. auto pact.
