Every other kid in the Junior "A" league is wearing a sweater like his national league ' organiza- tion wears, and I know that our kids would like the same. shawa Generals Have 21 Saturday Home Games sets against Marlboros and Ni- agara Falls, and a single attrac- tion against the new London Nationals in London, and per- haps, the Peterborough Petes, in an exhibition game in the new arena at Haliburton, On- tario. The three Wednesday night attractions will be on Wednes- day, November 24th, with St. Catharines; Wednesday, Janu- ary 19th, with Niagara Falls; and Wednesday, February 23rd, with Toronto Marlboros. Club president Humphreys said the season tickets will go on sale, in the very near future, with last year's season iicket holders being' contacted first, so that they may have the oppor- tunity of renewing their choice. Arena Manager Bill Kurelo will announce the dates of this program, as soon as he returns from his current vacation, New seats will then be available. Blair announced that he has secured satisfactory living ac- commodations for Coach "Bep" Guidolin, who will move here on September Ist, with his wife and four children, so that his child- ren may begin their school prog- ram in the city. The Directors of the Generals will meet some time this week to consider another major move within the organization. There is a strong feeling that the Generals should go to the Boston "However, before the rink burned, the Generals had de- parted from the red, white and blue colors of old, and there is a feeling that we should be in the colars of our parent a zation, a "@Yery other or "A" team in the league. "Another thing is the current attended the Junior "A" sched- ule meeting in Toronto last week and announced that the Generals have secured twenty- one home Saturday nights and three Wednesdays, 48-GAME SCHEDULE The nine Junior 'A Clubs will play a 48-game schedule this season, commencing on Thursday, October 7th, Generals will play their first home game on Saturday, Octo- ber 9th, against the Kitchener Rangers, The Generals will play every Satureday throughout the winter with the exception of December 25, Christmas Night. Blair also announced that the Generals will play approxi- mately six pre-season exhibition games, with home-and-home Oshawa Generals have an- nounced several pertinent fac- tors involving the coming hockey season, First, the Motor City squad will feature Saturday night as their main playing night, with Wednesday being the alternate. President Russell Humphreys said, "It was quite obvious that Saturday nights were very heavily favored by the sports fans in the city, and also because of heavy night-shift commitments in Oshawa, the Directors of the Club were unanimous in their opinion that we should play on Saturdays. Again, as last year, Saturday attractions will start at 7:15 "General Manager Wren Blair LONDON COMING Ontario Cup Final In Oshawa, Saturday Officials are hoping for large crowd to witness the game, for the main part of the proceeds will be used by the}Oshawa Association to help defray the expenses of the Italia team, should it win over London and advance to the A BRIEF CHAT DURING TOURNAMENT ronto, three of the contest- in a brief chat at a midway ants in yesterday's tourna- green, during the annual ment, are shown indulging "Junior Invitational Tour- Mimico Enters | Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa COMMERCIAL @ INDUSTRIAL DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING AREAS NO DOWN PAYMENT @ 20 Months to Pay nament" at Thunderbird ng Roun Nigel one Golf Club, at Ashburn. His rink of father Sam, 73, Jack Hunter, 66 and Clarence Oke, 52, was trailing 5-1 at the end of four ends but slowly fought its way back until they were one point back in the 17th end of the 18-end final. Vice - skip Sam MacMillan drew two perfect balls to the jack in the 18th end and Edney was a shade wide on his take- out attempt. Gord plugged the hole with his last ball and Ed- ney hit his own counter with his final take-out shot.
