When the whole family came to Canada in 1929 'and settled in this area, Mr. and Mrs. Nich- olls took up residence on Moth- ersill drive, -Whitby. In 1939 they returned to England and decided to remain there. They have one son, Mr. Nicholls, who went to school in Whitby and is now employed by the Sun Publishing Company of Watford. The visitors are amazed and enthusiastic about 'the changes arid development they see on ali sides here. Mr. Nicholls put it this way: 'Such enormous changes in a comparatively short time must be due to the energy and hard work of the people, confident of the future. "It is apparent. that every- body works at an accelerated tempo but at the same time the worker can enjoy, the advan- tages of the products of his labor." Mr. Nicholls views the scene with the eye of an artist and a photographer.
