Cawker, Mrs. L. W Dippell, Mrs. 1. C. Mason, Mrs. S. G. MeMurter and Mrs, O'Neill. The presentation was made by Vice-President Mrs. L. Ayre. Mrs. O'Neill presented a sident's pin to Mrs. W. ell. PIN PRESENTED Mrs. S. McMurter presented an honorary life membership pin in the Provincial Associa- tion of Hospital Auxiliaries to Mrs. W. Cawker. Mrs, Cawker Department Plans Sports Program BOWMANVILLE -- Plans for the sponsorship of boys' hard- ball, lacrosse and girls' softball have been announced by the Recreation Department. The registration of boys, be- tween 7 and 11 years, to play J.|Mrs. B. Milne received her honorary life mem- bership when she was regional chairman two years ago. Mrs. W, M. VOLKS REFUSES TO BE 'BUGGED' WOLFSBURG, West Ger- many (Reuters) -- The Volkswagen auto firm said Tuesday that fleas are not negotiable currency. The announcement came as a disappointment to two readers of a mass - circula- tion West German news- paper who had taken liter- ally a Volkswagen adver- tisement that it would ex- change one of its beetle- shaped models for 4,200 "fleas." The readers bought 4,290 dried fleas and posted them hopefully to Volkswagen. The firm returned the fleas--and pointed out that "fleas" is slang for Dutsch- mark. It also mentioned that the advertisement had appeared April 1. Macdonald School in Bay Ridges. All residents of the Bay Ridges, Bay Shore, French- man's Bay and Fairport Beach area are invited to attend. The association feels that there are people living in Bay Ridges who have never heard of the recreation association. The Recreation Association of Bay Ridges was formed and supported by the early pioneers of 1961. It was comprised of a few willing people who had been involved at one time or an- lother in recreation work. The lassociation has added a few new faces each year and already this chartered group can look back on many achieve- ments over the past four years. |AIDS MINOR HOCKEY The association is responsible finished' a successful season, and the Bay Ridges Softball Association, which is getting in gear for the coming season. It is very difficult to satisfy the majority but the association has in the very near future.
