6 THE OSHAWA TIMES, Mondey, April 5, 196- Annual Bonspiel Closes Mixed Curling Season Members of The Oshawa Curl- ing Club officially wound up their very successful mixed curling activities for the 1964-65 season, with their traditional "closing bonspiel"', on Satur- day, when a full entry of 32) rinks participated in the double- draw, three-game event. This year's Mixed Curlers' Closing was operated on a han- dicap, point system, with the point rating of 4-3-2-1 for skip- vice-second-lead, for a total of 10 points maximum. Point-total differences up to a maximum of six points were recognized, with that margin allowed as the handicap, PRIZES FOR ALL Following the practice of re- cent years, the hard-working "Mixed Curlers" committee had arranged a huge array of prizes, assuring a share of the day's loot for every single competitor -- plus some special attendance prizes for non-competitors. The outstanding success of the event was acclaimed by all the participants, who expressed their appreciation to the mem- bers of the committee. Top honors for the day, most important of which was winning the brand new special trophy "The Pot - Hunters' Special', were claimed by the rink of Corla Cook, Howard Cook, Trudy Hill and Ed. Hill, skip, with three wins and a total of 16-plus-1 points. Also competing in the early draw was the rink of Lorraine Good Lorne Good Er- mal Holland and Bill Holland, skip, who finished as runners- up, with three wins and a total of 14 points. Best in the 11.00 o'clock draw was the rink of Glad MacMillan, Don MacMillan, Brodie Sager and Garnet Sager, skip, with lthree wins and 12 points.
