Oshawa Bowlers In Eastern Final The Zone Eliminations in the ouggetiromrea five-pin bow!-' ionships were com- pleted in the Oshawa district over the past weekend, in both Ladies' and Men's divisions. With 24 competitors on hand at Motor City Lanes, the fans in attendance were treated to a great display of the five-pin art. In one of the most exciting tournaments ever held in Osh- awa, Ron Jay finally finished on top after a very hectic 20-game series which was conducted over two weekends. The top nine bowlers advanced to the finals. Jay put together four of the neatest five-game sets ever roll- ed in this district with 1,472, 1, 1,332, 1,438 and 1,320 for a 5,562| total. Some of his high games| were 381, 352, 343, 309, 313 and 307. SECOND TIME This marks the second time that Jay has finished on top as he was a winner a few years back when the were held in Peterborough. eliminations Close behind Jay was Harold Ballem who started slowly in the first five games with 1,218 and came back with 1,463, 1,376 and 1,375 for a total of 5,432.
