Museum eat Harvard Born at Walton-on-Thames, England,'in 1991, David Brooke received an honors BA in fine arts from Harvard University in 1958, and'a Masters degree also from Harvard in 1963. While at the Fi Museum, Mr. Brooke arrai in 1960 an exhibition of 100 Years of Eng- lish Lapiecees Drawing (1750- 1850). He is-now working on his doctoral thesis, man who walked with God. The treasurer, Mrs. Edgar Afiderson and the secretary gave their reports. Mrs. John Barber reported on the flowers and cards sent to the sick and shut-ins. Birthday greetings were sung for Mrs. George Whitbread. It was decided to pack Christ- mas boxes or baskets for shut- ins and sick members at the church on December 21. Plans were completed for a wedding reception at the church. The losing side of the copper contest prepared and served a delicious supper convened by Mrs. Anderson and her group. Reports were read by the treasurer, Mrs. R. M. Morri- son, and the secretary, Mrs. E. L. Disney. The educational secretary, Mrs. E. R. Snow, read. several letters of thanks from students of OCCI who won scholastic awards at the recent commencement. It was decided to send additional books for the library at the McKerron school, for Christmas, as well as candy for the pupils. The Oshawa Civic Auditorium asked the chapter to donate a picture of the Queen for. the main meeling room, before the official opening, December 11. IODE calendars for 1965 were available. These were very at- tractive, featuring Indian and Eskimo designs. The draw was won by Mrs E. L. Disney. Two guests were present, Mrs. 0. G. Yourth and Mrs, Paul Bellinger. A report was read for Mrs. W. -Neil thanking all the members who helped at the re- cent rummage sale, by donating clothing and time. Mrs. J. A. Vivash presented the Remembrance Day wreath at the Cenotaph, accompanied by Mrs H. E. Ramshaw as Standard-Bearer It was announced chapter would be holding an election of officers at the Janu- ary meeting. The nominating committee consisted of Mrs. S. A. Willson, Mrs. R. W. Heagle and Mrs. J. E. Hough- ton. Members were urged to let their names stand for office. Mrs. L. R. Sawyer is in charge of arrangements for the Christmas party, which will be held December 8 at the Osh- awa Golf Club.
