PLAN OF ACTION -- K. J. MacInnis, administrator for Ajax and Pickering General ital, has prepared an ex- tensive plan of action for trans- fe: patients to the recently- complete, $2,348,000 hospital. He calls Nov. 30 "The Day of the Big Move". The building will be officially opened by the Hon. Earle Rowe, lieutenant-governor of the Province of Ontario. Part of the transfer will be a natural evolution. Admission to the old building will cease_as of Nov. 2 -- except for emer- gericy cases. No elective sur- gery will be booked in the frame} and after that date. Elective admissions and book- ings will commence in the new hospital 'Dec, 2. emergency admissions will be made to the new building on afd after that dateh. On Nov. 30, acute patients will be moved by stretcer and wheel chair, accompanied by a member of the nursing staff. Pa- tients who are able to walk to the new building will be directed by nurses to new beds. And mothers with babies will be accompanied by nurses. All patients will be tagged with new hospital room numbers before the transfer. NURSES ASSIGNED Organizing the nursing staff, Assistant Administrator M. J Gerrow must assign nurses, pro- vide for medications, formula, charts, blankets and other necessary items for each pa- tient, as well as arrange for nursing service at the new hos- pital during the' transfer.
