REVENUE FUND Operations for the yeor resulted in a surplus of $10,873.57 after taking into revenue $15,000.00 from prior years' surplus ond be providing $15, rhe 00 to establish a reserve for work- ng funds. We recommend thot on amount of approximately $15,000.00 of the accumulated surplus be taken into the 1964 budget estimates os revenue ond used to increase the reserve for working funds by a like amount. By building up the reserve for working funds each yeor the Township will strengthen its financial position ond thereby reduce the amount of bank loans required, This in tum, will reduce the amount of bonk interest paid by the Township. Total taxes receivable now represent 19.6% of the current roll, compared to 21.6% in 1962, which indicates on improvement in the condition of the toxes receivable. TRUST FUNDS In accordance with section 299 of the Municipal Act con- tributions from subdividers hove been deposited into a special bonk account for that purpose. Some of these funds have sub- sequently been invested in securities as permitted by section 299 of the Municipel Act. At the time of our audit, however, the records of the municipality did not reflect the unexpended balance of funds for each subdivision as required by the Mun+ icipal Act. We recommend that immediate steps be taken to Prepore a proper accounting of these trust funds by individual subdivisions.
