Campbell scueanrrds sais Nuts' HOT ON THE WHEELS of the Indianapolis Speedway Classic coming to a tragically sad stop comes official word that the Indianapolis 500 winner, A. J. Foyt, will be a defi- nite starter in this week's big race, the Player's 200, at Mos- port, A crowd of approximately 35,000 is expected to show at the impressive two-mile car racing layout, located just a few miles north of Tyrone, approximately halfway between the road running north out of Tyrone and Highway 35. It's Clearly sign-posted throughout the entire area, so fans wish- ce A Wagner Clouts Ilth Home Run Of Season As Indians Win 3-0. By MIKE RATHET Associated Press Sports Writer "Don't fence me in' never was Leon Wagner's theme song. When the slugging outfielder was traded by Los Angeles An- gels to Cleveland Indians he said: 'Instead of trading me they should have pulled the Barry Latman and first base-} man Joz Adcock. His latest hot streak--11 hits in 18 at-bats, including homers in the last three games, has boosted his batting average to .309 and his runs batted in to a league-leading 40, At this stage of the season, he's almost half- ing to take in this Saturday's-big day at Mosport need have no worries about finding it. Just one warning, the traffic on the narrow back roads will be of the bumper-to bumper variety, unless you do leave early. The smart trick is to pack a picnic lunch and go in the morning, in time to see the warm-up runs and pick yourself a vantage point to view the afternoon's events. Among some of the world's top drivers, including A. J. Foyt, who will be racing, are Jimmy Clark, John Surtees, Dan Gurney, Dan Gerber, Augie Pabst, Canadian John Cannon and New Zealander Bruce MacLaren, x x x p NORTHERN DANCER is the name on everybody's lips, when horse racing is mentioned or the gee-gee fans as- semble these days. Currently, the big focal point of interest is the Belmont racetrack, where this Saturday afternoon E. P. Taylor's fine colt will make a bid to become the ninth horse in racing history to win the "Triple Crown" of U.S. racing, namely Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Northern Dancer has two of the coveted trophies already on his shelf (it's really Mr. Taylor's shelf, but word is out that if Northern Dancer wins this Saturday, he'll be permitted to eat of said shelf, ad infinitum) and now it re- mains only to claim the final honors. Word is out that they're going to stage a "street parade" in Toronto for "The 'Dancer" just for winning the Kentucky Derby. If~ he wins the Belmont Stakes too -- the parade might be too exciting for a thoroughbred. Meanwhile, closer to home, the punt- ers who have been trying to make their choice for this year's running of the Queen's Plate, received a jolt yester- day when Windfields Farms' "Stalwart" was injured yester- day at Greenwood, pulling up lame after the seventh race. It is thought that the colt suffered a small broken bone in his left foreleg. 'Stalwart' was regarded as the No. 2 choice for the Queen's Plate -- top choice honors, of course, being claimed by Northern Dancer. There has been some doubt as to whether N.D. would go for the Queen's Plate, espec- ially if he won at Belmont. However, the thinking is now likely to be that Windfields Farm should be represented in The Plate -- and by a good representative -- s0-0-0-0 7 x x x x BRIGHT BITS: -- Donald Campbell failed yesterday in his attempt to break the world land speed record, with his .Bluebird car, on the Lake Eyre salt flats, in Australia... . Announce New Healing Substance... Shrinks Piles, Checks Itch Exclusive healing substance proven to shrink hemorrhoids... and repair damaged tissue, A reucssed research institute has found a unique healing substance with the ability to shrink hemor- rhoids painlessly. It relieves itch- ing and discomfort in minutes and speeds up healing of the injured, inflamed tissues. One hemorrhoidal case history after another reported "very strik- ing improvement."' Pain was promptly and gently relieved ... actual reduction or retraction (shrinking) took place, Among these case histories were a variety of hemorrhoidal condi- tions. Relief even occurred in cases of long standing, and most im- portant of all, results were so thorough that this improvement was maintained over a period of many months. This was accomplished with a new healing substance (Bio-Dyne) which quickly helps heal injured cells and stimulates growth of new tissue. Bio-Dyne is offered in oint- ment and suppository form called Preparation iH, ; In addition to actually shrink- ing hemorrhoids, Preparation H lubricates and makes elimination less painful. It helps prevent in- fection which is a principal cause of hemorrhoids, Just ask your druggist for Pre- paration H Suppositories or Pre- paration H Ointment (with a special applicator), Satisfaction guaranteed or your money refunded. : "Turn To Modern Living With Oil Heat" TELEPHONE 723-3481 McLaughlin Coal & Supplies Lid. 110 KING ST, WEST OSHAWA 66Witha termDlan loan I put less money into financing and more into the car99 reaaeeseib cannes First -- before you shop around - arrange with Royal Bank to finance in advance with a low-cost loan.
