ANN LANDERS Dear Ann Landers: Seven months ago a ing girl came to work in about 21, sweet, refined and has a lovely, warm_personal- ity. Several of the fellows asked her out but she said she was engaged and couldn't accept dates. (The girl wore no ring.) Last week she came to work looking pale and ill. She fainted at her desk and I carried her to the infirmary. An hour later the nurse called to ask if I would drive her home. On he way home the girl sob- bed out her story. She is preg- imant, she can't work much longer and doesn't know what to do, The fellow she was "'en- gated" to is a married man who lied to her about his mari- tal status. He offered her money to "get lost' but she refused and wants to go it alone. I am_ seriously thinking of asking her to marry me. I know this sounds wacky but I think we could have a good life | together even though we have never had a date. I am 30, have never been; Marry For Pity And Look For Strife.
