Hoo-boy! Right the first time! I'll tell you a little bit about it, just to make you jeatous if you didn't go. As you approached the school you discovered that our little oid doorway had been turned into a drawbridge by the addition of huge silver chains. Two silver swords sparkled on the door and a gigantic war axe. hung in the window. The doors were opened for you by two guards all dress- ed up in a purple cape, and with real swords even! The lobby had become a cosy room with stone walls, A fire giowed in a stone fireplace, with a shield above it. A large mirror and a love seat were part of the furnishings. But the best was yet to come! You passed down into the "eym" through an archway of blue and white paper, guarded by two more guys who also had real swords, even! The waiter directed you to your table and you had a chance to marvel at what had happened to our 'gym', The whole thing was covered by blue and white crepe paper Ithat stretched from all four GRAD BALL SUCCESS O'Neill Tracksters Set School Records By MARTIN SINGLETON (OCVI Reporter) The Grad Ball turned out to be a tremendous success Fri- day night and congratulations should be extended to the hard- working committee. Here is an excellent bit cf card magic which can be done anytime and anywhere, Confus- es them all without exception. Effect: Your friend mentally selects a card, later he places deck behind his back, reverses a card, and places it -- any- where -- in the deck. No matter; where he places it, his selected ecard is always the one under- neath. Secret and method: 1. Friend takes the card and shuffles till his heart is con- tent. : 2. Tell him to cut the deck into two equal piles. 3. He is to hand you either pile. 4. Get him to look at and select any card in the deck. To prove there is no trickery you te him that you'M turn your back so you won't see which card he is selecting. When back is turned, accomplish the three following moves: (a) Hold your pile face down. (b) Reverse bottom card (face down) and leave on the bottom. (c) Reverse second card from top (face-up) and leave it in the same order that is sec- ond from the top, A, B, C should be accomplished care- fully but quickly. 5. Tell him to replace his selected card face down on the top of his pile. 6, Now turn around and ask him to put his pile on the table face down. 7. You place your pile right on the top of his, also face down, 18. Give him entire deck and let him put it behind his back - face down. Make sure no one is behind him at this point of the trick. 9.
