L'orchestre de l'ecole a ter- mine le programme en offrant quelches selections de l'operette "My Fair Lady' lesqueles ont ete bien recues par |'auditoire. par Scout Council 50 Years In Canada When the National Council, Boy Scouts of Canada, meets in annual session in Ottawa's Chateau Laurier on May 8, and 9, it will mark the 50th anni- versary of the incorporation of that council by act of Parlia- ment. Although Scouting has been active in Canada since 1908, was not until May 12, 1914, that an act incorporating the Cana-. dian General Council of ~the Boy Scouts of Canada was ap- proved in March, 1961, an amendment to the act changed the name to Boy Scouts of Canada and, in French, Scouts du Canada. Mr. R. C. Berkin- shaw, Toronto, president of the National Council will chair the May 8 and 9 meetngs. Canada's Boy Scouts will decorate the graves of the Fathers of Confederation dur- |ing the 1967 centennial cele- brations. A request from the centennial commission, to have the uts undertake 'this pro- ject has been approved by the Executive Committee of Boy Scouts of Canada, National Council. In recognition of the national service performed by Boy Scouts in locating amd decora- ting the graves of the Fathers of Confederation in 1927, the Diamond Jubilee of Confeder- ation, two Scout figures were carved in the stone-work: over a window near the main en- trance of the Confederation Building on Ottawa's Wellington street, at Bank. SAILING REGATTA Yachtsmen of Charlottetown, P.E.I., have purchased 20 new 13 foot sailing craft which will be used in the 4th National Scout Sailing Regatta at Char- lottetown, August 8-15, R. C. Stevenson, Montreal, vice-presi- dent of Boy Scouts of Canada National Council has announced. Two-man..crews. from all ten provinces are expected to com- pete as well as Scouts from other countries The Alberta Provincial Scout Council is sponsoring a sailing regatta to be held. at Glenmore Park in Calgary, July 11, to select crews to represent that province in the regatta.
