The Biddy Basketball League in Oshawa, for boys of ages 8- to-12, is sponsored by the West- motnt Kiwanis Club, as part of its youth work program and club members act as coaches, managets, timekeepers, etc. RECEIVE TROPHY. Following Saturday's title vic- tory, the '"Bantings" team was presented with The Ken Zim- merman Memorial Trophy (the late Mr. Zimmerman was a former member of Westmount F Kiwanis Club) with Mrs. Zim- merman making the presenta- © tion to team captain Randy Jordan. Westmount Club member, Kiwanian Henry Reed, Kiwanis Lieutenant- Governor for this @ No. 6B Division then presented championship and runners-up crests to the two teams. Fol- lowing the presentations, the boys enjoyed a "bund feed" which saw over 200 "hot dogs" and eight cases of "pop" con- sumed by the appreciative play- ers. In Saturday's final Banti five-point lead and were in front most of the way as captain Randy Jordan led his team in breaks through the Aces' de- fence line, with the first half ending 8-6. White Aces fought back in fine style in the second half, with some good team play and moved in front 10-8, only to have Dennis Medwig tie it up for Bantings. VERY CLOSE FINISH Bantings' Tom _ Eldridge, awarded two foul shots, potted the first free throw for one point and then recovered his own rebound on the next throw, to score a basket for two more points and a 18-10 lead. Jim Yakemishyn and Mike Black of White Aces got into the clear on long-pass plays late in the game and each potted a basket, to put their team in front 14-18 but in the final min- ute, Bantings' Ron Parfitt was awarded a foul shot. He didn't miss and that made the score 14-14, where this game ended.
