Ru- mors are spreading that many epent their free time im bed, nursing the meas"es. Others were imprisoned in- doors with severe colds and Chris Merkley spent the week in the hospital. But veny few had the satisfaction of remain- ing ill long enough to be absent from school. Many had to re- turn to face the unwanted re- ports. Wednesday proved to be the unlucky day for many students as they received the results, from examinations. I cannot say that everyone was doomed, for many walked out of the school Wednesday afternoon with smiling faces and en- couraging words. Highest average in Grade 10 was achieved by Bill O'Reilly with 88 per cent followed close- ly by 13 more of his classmates with first-class honors. Average per cent in Grade 10 was 71.8 per cent. Good work! The male and female com- | petition in Grade 9 continues at high peak as Betty Anne Yanch and Matthew Gimpelj tied for top place with 85.1 per cent. Eighteen others captured first class honors in Grade 9. Each student is being interviewed this WILL CONVALESCE TOKYO (AP) -- Edwin 0.: ambassador , Reischauer, US. to Japan, will fly to Hawaii for an unspecified period of con- valescence from a stab wound when he is discharged from a Tokyo hospital Wednesday. Reischauer was stabbed in the thigh last March 24 by a men- tally deficient youth. © week by the principal to dis- cuss courses for next year. School procedure began with a slow start as students found that they had to wake up from the lazy days of doing nothing. Many are complaining that Easter holidays are too short. They give you the time to yawn but not the time to sleep. But as long as we have only a week we will have to make the best of it and I believe that some really did have a 'ball'! I wish our colleagues who are still idl, a quick recovery and any who are disappointed in reports the best of luck in the future. DRAKE'S LOG ~ Tri-Service Well, my lads; writer certain- ly was proud of those who turn- ed up at the Armories yester- day afternoon for the second an- nual. tri-service cadet church parade. We found that the mem- bers of the band, with one or two exceptions, were out in force but that the bulk of the ship's company let the Corps down again! Familiar faces were not to be seen and out of 55 bodies we were roughly able to muster some 40 hands. This is not a good showing and writer suggests that with the exception of a few. cases where sickness prevailed, some people were too busy (7?) to care about the par- ade. Only one requested leave so that sure leaves a lot of people not accounted for. The parade was a good one amd we were rather proud of the way shoulders went back and the martial spirit prevailed when each of the units was played by the saluting base with their own _ traditional march past. Our thanks to FO Bemie Clark and the members of the 411 Squadron RCAF Parade At Armories Sunday (Aux.)
