The Hawks made no mistake about the game, but they were left pretty much in the dark as far as the standings in the play- offs are concerned. The main cause of difficulty is a Toronto team, YMHA Blues, who defaulted both their games against the locals. This norm- ally would leave the Hawks with a record of four wins and two losses, good enough to tie for first place with either Brant- ford or Kitchener, depending on what results when these two meet this Saturday. However,t he Ontario Basket- ball Association has apparently decided to disregard their Oshawa Hawks Pull Surprise Win Over Top Brantford Club former opinions on the subject land, unofficially, declare all games involving Toronto null and void. This would mean that the Hawks will have to rely on Kitchener upsetting Branford, thereby creating a three-way tie for first place, and possibly another round-robin, In Saturday's game, Oshawa started early and built up a quick 10-point lea* before the Brantford team knew what hit them. From that point on, the locals were never headed and the resutl was seldom in doubt The margin was cut to seven points at one point but the Hawks opened up a gap of 15 points at another. Hawks' fast-break at'ack once again seemed to be a major factor in the victory but some great defensive work, particu- larly by Tom Olinyk, also played of of!
