GOLF CLUB Myrrh Jackson, The Oshawa Golf Club held a "Junior Mixed Bonspiel" on Saturday and the event proved an outstanding success as a full draw of 24 rinks of teen-age _ curling enthusiasts turned out and enjoyed a day's pleasure that was highlighted by keen competition and fellowship. In addition to composite rinks from -_Oshawa Golf Club and Oshawa Curling Club, entries were on hand from Whitby, Unionville, Leaside, Oakville, Lakefield and Cobourg and when it came to hand out the day's awards, two out-of-town rinks had copped the top honors. There were two draws, of 12 rinks each, competing at 9.00 o'clock and 11.00 o'clock and each draw was conducted as a separate event, with prizes in each division. Each rink played two games and prizes were de- cided on a point basis, with 10 points for a win and one point for each end. In the 9 o'clock draw, "Mike" Barrett of Whitby skipped his rink to top laurels with two wins and a total of 33 points. Next in line was John Mowat's entry from The Oshawa Curl- ing Club, with 30 points. Herb- Gray's Whitby rink copped the consolation prizes. In the 11.00 o'clock division, Norm Bean's Lakefield rink had the same total of 33 points, to win the top prizes and Bob Hitchman's Oakville rink also matched the early draw, win- ning the second prizes, with a total of 30 points.
