McLaughlin Plidns To Lay The Cornerstone The official opening of the mew home of Simcoe Hall Boys' Club will take place in the new building at Eastview Park on Wednesday, Nov. 20, starting at 8 p.m. The public will be seated in advance in the gymnasium, un- til the arrival of the official party. Meanwhile, the Ontario Regiment will form a guard of honor at the main entrance and music will be furnished by the Regiment Band. With the official party, Col. R. S. McLaughlin will enter the lobby to lay the corner-stone. After this, Rabbi M. Kutziner will offer an invocation. The whole procedure will be relayed to the gymnasium by loud- speakers. Returning to the gymnasium, Stewart Alger, general chair- man of the campaign for the new club, will introduce Mayor Lyman Gifford of Oshawa, who will extend an official welcome to the guests. Rt. Rev. Monsig- mor Paul Dwyer, pastor of the Roman Catholic Church of St. Gregory the Great, will then in- troduce Col. R. S. The official party will then leave to tour the building, and at 9.30 p.m. the Women's Wel- fare League will start serving lunch (coffee). The tours will continue until all guests have seen around, and from about 9 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., visitors to the Olympic-size swimming pool will be able to watch a contin- uous swimming and diving de- monstration, Among those tak- ing part in this demonstration will be Don Webb, the Canadian high-diving champion, and Judy Stewart, also a Canadian diving ehampion, The program will include un- derwater swimming and Pool Manager George Mudd is ar- ranging a spectacular program. /COL, R..
