Minutes of the previous meet- ing were read and offering re ceived. : A report on the Christian, Education Conference which was held at Five Oaks last weekend was given by Mrs. McLaren and Mrs .Porter, Business was dealt with and it was decided that this Unit would meet with the General meeting for their Ohristmas meeting. ! Reports for the year from the treasurer and secretary were jasked for -- these to be handed in to the general meeting some- time in November. UNIT NO. 5 "Rememberance Day" was the theme of the Unit 5 meet- ing, held at the home of Mrs. Olive Millson recently. Unit leader, Etta Irwin, wel- comed the members and guests, and called on Frankie Barraball who led in a prayer for Peace, A hymn was sung and Mrs; Ray Dickson read the scripture. Mrs. Rene Gibson read paper on "How Much Does the Test Ban Treaty Mean?" which emphasized the feeling that faith in God and in our fellow- man will do more for Peace than signed treaties. Two young soloists of the eve- ning were Marie Yeo, accom panied on the piano by Mrs, Fred Yeo, sang three numbers, "In the Garden," "It is Noe Secret" and "Bluebird on My Window Sill," and Ellen Mill- son, playing two piano instru- mentals, "Ballad" and "Moth. ers of Salem."
