Cannon H&S Meeting One of the most contentious and lively meetings ever held by the Dr. C. F. Cannon Home land School Association took |place recently in Lake Vista. | Well over 100 people were pres- ent, which in itself was a good lindication of the interest, and feeling generated by. the On. jtario Federation of Home and School decision recently to in- crease affiliation fees from 30 cents to $1.00. '| The school principal, Mr. G. -|A. Korry, outlined the school '|program for the year. When in- i\troducing his. new staff, Mr. Korry reminded members that 'the school opened in 1957 with in a procedural tussle as to, which persons were entitled to vote. The complications. of this | issue +re pointed out from the floor by a member who stated| that if members were required! to pay the membership fee be- fore they voted .and then voted) to secede from Federation their) membership fee would be confis-) cated by Federation. This ober-| vation drew further comment| from both sides of the meeting. | The meeting was finally ad-) journed without a decision on this point, which was to be left to the executive at their next meeting. | Whatever else may have been fuk eae --lIreland Studio By PATRICIA RUSAK TORONTO (CP) --- Young their eyes about glamorous modelling careers should think twice, "You can make a career out of it but it's tough," says Joy- Davies who runs a modelling and charm school here, Even in this city, one of Can- ada's leading fashion centres, there are only about 10 girls who can earn their living from this work, she says. There are fewer opportu- nities in most other Canadian cities. Miss Davies says few jobs are available for Canadian models partly because Canada's largest mail order companies import models for their cata- jlogue work. | "And when they do use Ca- inadian girls, they just use them |for slips and girdles--New York igirls charge about $80 an hour for modelling lingerie, while in Pj the rate is only about 0.""
