"ROVEN-RANGLA Sea Scout Crew Opens New Den 8TH OSHAWA (TED FRIEND) ROVER SEA SCOUT CREW Welcome aboard Mates. On 'Oct. 5, the crew officially open- ed its new den at Camp Samac, The afternoon was spent ex- plaining the construction of, the den to the interested people who came out to tour the den. Our great friends from the 7th. Im- perial Georgetown Rover Crew came down for the festivities along with their girl friends. They presented us with a coffee table inscribed on the bottom! Congratulations and much suc- with two storjes in Chinese, but being illiterate, 1 am in doubt as to what it says. We, in turn, took the Georgetown crew and their friends out for supper. On behalf of the crew I would like to thank Glen Short, SM, and Bernard Muzeen, ASM, of the 11th Oshawa "B" troop for their gift of avGuest Book to the crew. Thanks fellows, and we shall use it at every opportunity possible. Upon arriving at the den for the evening activities, we noticed that the den was for sale by several out of estate companies and had been sold by a few different com- panies. The den also had the look of being the campaigning grounds of several well known political parties. We owe all of this to our Georgetown friends and we hope to return all their signs to their leader's house along with a few of our own. DEN DEDICATED That evening the den was offi- cially opened by Skipper C, K Anderson, ADC, for Rovers and the Venerable /rchdeacon H. D Cleverdon, padre of the Fighth * Oshawa Sea Scout Group and our own skipper, Robert Cor- * neal. We spent the evening dancing (for those of us who have less than two left feet), Also we sat around the camp fire singing well known camp songs entertained by one of the Rover Alumni with his version of a song. We were also entertained by Oshawa's own the TWO ' SQUARES and a CUBE-er . . the TWO STRIKES and a SPARE-er I don't think that's it Oh, I know! The TWO SPUDS and a DUD. We would like to thank them for their time and a very enter- taining show. We were glad to see our curly headed Rover Don, in attendance, from Queen's University, We would like to thank all the people who helped make this oc- casion possible. Good luck "8th". TOUR BELL BUILDING Thursday night, Oct. 10, our Crew took in a "royal carpet" tour of the Bell Telephone build-| ing on Victoria street in. Osh-| awa. We had a near complete! turnout with only Skipper Snow- don unable to attend, Boy, was that a tour that will be long remembered.
