Campbell SPORTS EDITOR 'Everything From Soup To Nuts' * THANKSGIVING WEEKEND, around these parts, is gen- ally accepted as the end of the summer season, and this ar is no exception. Oshawa Hawkeyes have their last two hedule games this weekend, they play Toronto Invictus en, at St. Michael's Stadium, tomorrow morning and on Monday, they visit the Scarborough Rams. The way the oppos- ifion has been performing, it is only reasonable to expect that woth Invictus and Scarborough will chalk up wins against Gshawa Hawkeyes in this holiday weekend session. Junior football in Oshawa seems to be doomed--not for lack of interest --but for lack of sufficient interest and "bodies". Certainly the Oshawa Junior Football Club has an executive comprised of hard-working and well-established Oshawa business men, sports enthusiasts who have given a lot of their time and effort (and money) to try and put Junior football 'on the map" locally. They have had wonderful co-operation from cerrtain groups, coaching has been adequate, in fact excellent and the enthusiasm of a small group of football-minded young- sters has served to keep the ball bouncing--but in the main it begins to look as if this city is not ready for Junior By THE CANADIAN PRESS The Ontario Hockey Associa- tion Junior A group opens its 1963-64 season Sunday with two new teams, one transplanted club and four new coaches, Increasing the league mem- bership to eight teams from six last year are Oshawa Generals and Toronto Marlboros, both moving in from the now defunct Metro Toronto Junior A group.
