___Brings Home Truth a we 10 iG wishes Comedy Sketch Am hare Highlight of this month's méeting of the Westmount Home and School Association was the presentation of a sketch. Although this small play depicted a serious family situa- tion, it caused much laughter, as of course, the happenings in the play have existed in most families. The sketch was entitled "Dick's. Bedtime Hour', was enacted by Mrs. Fred Smith, Mrs, Claude A. Brett and Mr, Wayne Stubbs. Moder- ator was Mrs. Sophie Brownlee, first vice-president of the asso- ciation, who also led the very lively discussion which fol- lowed. Jean Dixon, a pupil of Grade 6 made a very clear speech about the community chest. She will represent Westmount School at the Greater Oshawa Community Chest public speak- yg eg oe rs, Ralph Boneham presid-| ed for the business par* of the) evening. In opening the meet- ing Mrs. Boneham read ex- tracts from several public ad-| dresses made by _ prominent citizens of Oshawa in connection with church and school week. Mr. Frank H. Ross, principal of Westmount School, informed the parents that there was now a police guard for Stevenson) road south and he urged par- ents 'to teach their children to cross the road at that point. Mrs, Melville Coolidge, publi- cation chairman of the West- mount Home and School Asso- ciation, announced that books can be ordered from the Cour- tice Memorial library. Mrs. Coolidge displayed many books on the subject of child care and said that any book can be ' held for 30 days free of charge.
