The winners disposed of Carm Daw and his Niagara Falls' rink in the quarter-final round, eliminated Andy Widdis and his Lindsay representatives rather handily in the semi-finals and then copped the top honors with a 9-5 victory over veteran Gil Walker of London, in the final round. Tied at 5-5, at the end of seven rounds, the Scarboro rink copped the Rose Bowl honors with a big four-count on the 8th end when London skip Gil Walker was hog-line short and then a foot short with his two rocks. Skip McAlpine raised one of his own and also rolled in for a "measure" fourth rock, with his final shot on the 8th end, to break up the nip-and-tuck battle.
