Fenton, 8 Glynn road, Ajax, oc- of curred at the Ajax-Pickering General Hospital, Sunday, Feb. 17, at the age of 88. She enjoyed good health all her life but was admitted to hospital last Thurs- day. Born in London, Eng., she was married there and came to Can- ada as Mrs. Mary Ann Ashton in 1911. She settled in Toronto where Mr. Ashton later died. In 1930, she married Charles W. '.| Fenton in Toronto. Mrs, Fenton had lived in Ajax since 1941, and was one of the .|first residents of the area when the Defense Industries Limited plant opened. She was a mem- ber of the Ajax Anglican Church, Mrs, Fenton is survived by her husband, Charles W. Fenton and a daughter, Mrs. I. J. Bruce of Toronto. There are three grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. The funeral service will be .| held in the chapel of the William E. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gard- ens, Scarborough. MISS JESSIE J. BELL The death of Miss Jessie J. Bell occurred at Fairview .|Lodge, Whitby, Saturday, Feb. 16. She was in her 97th year. A daughter of the late William Bell and Jane Tait, she was born in Scotland, Feb. 24, 1866. Miss Bell came to Canada at the age of six amd lived for a {time between Port Hope and Cobourg. She resided in Roch ester, N.Y., for about 50 years, going there from Brooklin. In Rochester, she was a member .|of Lake Avenue Baptist Church. Miss Bell is survived by two sisters, Mrs. F, Patton (Mary), of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. S. ' Laidlaw (Willa), of Vancouver, B.C. There are several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held in the Robinson Funeral Chapel, Brooklin, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Groveside Cemetery, Brookilin. FREDERICK WAINWRIGHT Following a short serious ill- ness, the death of Frederick Wainwright occurred Sunday, Feb, 17 at Oshawa General Hos- pital. He was ih his 70th year. Mr. Wainwright was- a resi- dent of Oshawa for the past 29 years. During recent years he boarded at the home of Mrs. Mary Adams at Courtice. He was a General Motors em- ployee for 25 years and worked the Buick Assembly line until he retired in 1958, The d was a 4 ry di and member of the Board of Directons of UAW Credit Union as well"as a member of Local 222, UAW. He served overseas during the First World War with the 19th Battalién from Kingston. Mr. Wainwright was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43. Left to mourn are his wife, Mabel, a daughter, Mrs. Earl Crawford (Nora) Oxdrift and a son James E., Vancouver as well as four grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. J.
