THE OSHAWA TIMES, ednesday, November 21, 1962 MDs, Hospital Pay Couple In Law Suit TORONTO (CP) -- Matthew Gasparovich of Toronto and his wife, Josephine, settled Tuesday for an undisclosed amount in a non-jury action in which they claimed $116,500 against a Tor- onto hospital and two Toronto physicians. ' The pair sued Doctors Hos- tal, Dr. Alexander Raxlen and r. Barnet Berris after the woman underwent an operation Nov. 14, 1957. She claimed spe- cial damages of $25,000 and general damages of $90,000 for pain and suffering, Her husband eued for $1,500 for loss of her companionship. In a statement of claim Mrs. Gasparovich said she was neg- ligently transfused with incom- patible blood while she was being prepared for operation and as a result she suffered loss of consciousness, fever and rigor, difficulty in breathing and intense and severe pain.
