Gordon Bunker performed the traditional cere- mony to mark their golden anni. versary on Tuesday, November Mr. and Mrs. Bunker received some 475 guests at their home, Pinecrest road, Oshawa, during the afternoon and evening while their daughter, Mrs. W Maurice Bickle (Joy) acted as hostess. To receive, Mrs. Bunker wore an afternoon dress of silver and mink-tone brocade with a bronze corsage and Mrs. Bickle and her two daughters, the Misses Penny and Janet Bickle who were in charge of the guest book, were all dressed in gold and white brocade and wore corsages of gold carnations. ASSISTING HOSTESS Pouring tea in the afternoon Golden Wedding Mrs. Bunker, the former Miss May Greentree, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Green. tree was born near Myrtle and Mr. Bunker was born at Max- well's Corners, a community north of Harmony. They were married at the home of the bride's parents, Farewell ave- nue, Harmony, by the Reverend S. C. Moore, minister of Met- calfe Street Methodist Church (now King _ Street United Church) on Wednesday, Novem- ber 6, 1912. Except for two years spent at Greenbank, Mr. and Mrs. Bunker have spent their mar- ried life in Oshawa. Mr. Bunker retired two years ago as ad- ministrator of the Oshawa Board of Education which he nad served for 25 years: Prior to his association with the board he was employed by Fittings Limited for 19 years. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bunker are loyal and dedicated church and lodge members. In May Mrs. were Mrs. W. R Bickle and Mrs. H M. Brooks, Mrs. Mur- ray Greentree and Mrs. E..H. Peever, Mrs: Stanley Disney and Mrs. Fred Ball and Mrs. Stephen G. Saywell and Mrs. S. George Werry. Those serving were Mrs. John Dyer, Mrs. Norman Hinds, Mrs. Kenneth Williams, Mrs. Raymond Mc- Knight, Mrs. Ivan Morrison, Mrs. Irwin Southwell, Mrs. Warner Brown, Mrs. Archie Blight and Mrs. William Vinson. Presiding in the evening at the flower-decked table were Mrs. W. J MacDonald, Miss Maud Basseti, Mrs. James lan- son, Mrs: Harrison Peacock, Mrs. Laura Stewart, Mrs. George A. Mathews, Mrs. J. v McNeely, Mrs. Reginald Foster and Mrs. Joseph Arvay. Serving were Mrs. George Daigle, Mrs. Jack Greeniield, Mrs. Douglas Burley, Mrs. Ea- ward Gresik, Mrs. Frank Bart- lett, Mrs. John Clairmont, Miss Aileen Gibb, Mrs. James Eng- lish. Mrs. R. J. Luke and Mrs- Howard Stacey, Mrs. Bunker's sisters acted as dining room hostesses and Unit No. 2 of King Street United Church Women handled the catering under the leadership of »Mrs. Wellington Trainer. Mrs. Bickle made the three-tier anniversary cake for her parents. Over two hundred greeting cards, scores of gifts and bou- quets expressed the esteem in . which the couple are held in the community and beyond. He was initiated into Lebanon Lodge AM and FM in 1916, and was installed as Worshipful master in 1921 and made a life member in 1931. He is the only senior Past Master of Lebanon Lodge today.
