Buys Sugar From South Africa DURBAN (AP)--A cargo of 11,200 tons of South African sugar has been sold to British Columbia Sugar Refining Com- pany in Vancouver, bringing the total sales of raw sugar to Can- ada this year to 52,640 short tons. Of the total, 41,440 tons will be shipped to refineries in Mont- real and Toronto, the South Af- rican Sugar Association said in a statement. The latest-sale maintains the foothold established on Canada's west coast in 1960 when the first cargo was sent to the refinery at Vancouver, says the state- ment. The sugar was sold to Canada at the world free market price, helped by a preference under an agreement with Ottawa.
