The ceremonies were held in the assembly hall where hospital representatives, the Ontario Minister of Health, Dr. Dymond, the nursing staff and friends assembled. Rev. S. Coates, hospital chap- lain gave the invocation and all were welcomed by Hospital Superintendent Dr. W. H. Weber. The greetings of the Town of Whitby were brought to the graduates by Mayor Stanley Martin and the best wishes of the hospital staff by the Admin- istrator Mr. Hugh Baker. Director of Nursing Miss Helen Whitman gave a report on nursing activities and the Florence Nightingale Pledge was administered to the gradu- ates by Mrs. Ellen Zivkovic. After the valediction was given by Mrs. Marjorie Camp- bell, the Minister of Health, Mr, Dymond gave an address. Mrs. Dymond presented diplomas to the eight nurses and Miss Whit- man presented nursing pins. Mrs. Lynne Hart was awarded the Gold Medal for Highest Standing Third Year Clsas of 1962 which was presented by Mrs. Dymond, Anna Stubinski was the recip- ient of the Silver Medal for Highest Standing Second Year, Class of 1963 and Jane Brick- man won the Bronze Medal for Highest Standing First Year, Class of 1964. Mrs. Hart also won the Super- intendent's Prize for the High- est Standing in Psychiatry and the Prize for Highest Standing in Medical Surgical Nursing. The prize for the Highest Standing on Obstetrical Nursing was won by. Miss Judith Haight who also won the award for the new graduate who showed the Highest quality of Nursing Care. The prize for the new gradu- ate who showed the greatest pro* fessional development during her three years at school was Baptist Women won by Mrs. Marjorie Campbell and a prize donated by the Alumnae Association for the stu- dent who contributed most to her fellow students in the wards, Mario Ladies College, Whitby.
