Car Production Reported Down TORONTO (CP) -- Canadian motor - vehicle production this week is estimated at 12,779 units jcompared with 13,235 last week, says the Canadian Automobile Chamber of Commerce. Production is estimated at 10,820 cars compared with 11,165 last week and 1,959 trucks com- pared with 2,070. Production to date this week is estimated at 211,105 units compared with 167,016 in the corresponding period last year, made up of 177,836 cars com- pared with 138,327 and 33,269 trucks compared with 28,689. Car production by companies this week and this year to date with figures for last week and the corresponding period last year in brackets, was: American Motors 542 (538), 8,135 (2,456); Chrysler 1,317 (1,- 317), 11,481 (18,515); Ford 3,098 (2,954), 52,152 (42,246); General Motors 5,663 (6,137); 102,806 (74,882); Studebaker-Pa- ckard 200 (219) 3,262 (2,288).
