It is generally agreed that nurses in ony hospital perform functions which could be the responsibility of others, especially in the area of clerical work, housekeeping duties, caring of supplies, etc.. In Oshawa General Hospital we have attempted to relieve the nurses of many of these routine duties in order that their time may be devoted to the more complex aspects of nursing, Staff Education Our educational programme for graduate nurses has con- tinued through means of ward discussions, films, clinics, lectures and monthly conferences, The provision of 'a large, comfortable lecture room for medical and staff conferences and lectures has been acceptable and is used extensively.
