2 THE OSHAWA TIMES, Mondey, Merch 1¥, ryez Toronto YMHA Takes One-Point Margin In First Game Of Round Oshaw Hawks dropped a close 63-62 battle to Toronto YMHA Saturday night when they froze the ball for the final minute, playing for one good shot that didn't come off. It was the first game of a two-game total points Inter A series, with the return match slated for Oshawa's Don- evan Collegiate, this Saturday at 7.30 p.m. Hawks might have won in the final minutes. Down two points with one minute and twenty seconds remaining, they went tack. Then Gary Vaughan and Brent Oldfield opened up and the Hawks were right back in the game. It was tied at 46-all and then 52-all when Dave Bern- stein moved thé Torontos in front to stay. With a 63-58 lead they looked to be home free when the Hawks came roaring back. They nar- rowed the gap 63-61 before going into a freeze. Kolodzie narrow- ed it to one point, before the final buzzer and that's all the) Hawks have to pick on their| the Hawks a lot of trouble last year, was still their big gun get- ting 15 points.Dave Bernstein added 12 and Max Grossman 11. Ineresting to note is that over 20 points were scored at the foul line by Toronto with Syd Himmel getting 7 for 11 points and not a single field goal from the floor.
