Robert Eadie, 19, was convict- ed by Magistrate Robert Dniep er in Whitby police court, PC Raymond Goodwin, of the Whitby Detachment of _ the OPP, said that at 5.15 a.m. on Jan. 20 he was proceeding south on Simcoe street north in Oshawa when he saw a man standing on the side of the street. He said that he ob- served him throw something into the ditch and stopped to} question him. It was Eadie, he said. While questioning Eadie, said PC Goodwin, the accused pro-| duced three more bottles of beer from his clothing. While awaiting the arrival of the Osh- awa Police Department, he said, Eadie refused to give him his identification and after being placed under arrest, re- fused to close the passenger's § door on the cruiser. He said that the accused pushed him and a struggle ensued in which the officer received a grazed cheek. Two Oshawa police officers said they arrived. as_ the struggle continued and put hand- cuffs on Eadie Eadie told the court that he had grabbed PC Goodwin's wrists as the officer laid his hand on his arm. He also told the court that he was struck on the face in the struggle. Magistrate Dnieper told Fadie that he disbelieved the accused completely and entire- ly.
