MOTOR CITY MIXED BUSINESS LEAGUE There may be a lot of snow around outside, but it didn't dampen the spirits of our fellow bowlers hecause there were some terrific scores this week and the highlight of the evening was the great bowling of Bob McLean, who threw a lovely 804 (282, 265). And on the same team, Fred Schneider came up with a nice 747 (266, 256) for the Chums, to take all four points, naturally, from the Spitfires, even with the efforts of Bert Trick, who tossed a 647 (256, 207) and Jerry Crawford's 621 (270, 184), The Toppers took three points with no 600 triples, from the Jets, who had three of their bowlers throw high triples. Leading off was Peggie Fayle with a 656 (246, 237), followed by, oh, oh, the barber again, George Tait with @ 622 (232, 197) and jastly, Art Smart a 602 (208, 199). To think the Jets only took one point, losing the games by a mere nine pins, that's one for Ripley. Tops and Atoms were very polite te each other, splitting two points apiece, Gord Hudson, for the Tops, helped this along with a lovely 704 (328, 211) and Shirley Smart, again this week for the Atoms, with a 621 (242, 216). Don't turn the page yet. there are two more nice 700 triples. The first was racked up by Harry Fayle, of the Flop pers, with a 766 (272, 267) and with Murray O'Riley's help of 653 (267, 219), took three points from the Hornets, Bill Gallant's 724 (279, 241), earned them just one point. That is a good night of bowling in anyone's book. 200 games (Women) -- Lily Rae 246, Rose Crawford 243, Joyce O'Riley 223, Betty Ann Groat 214 and Madeline More rison 200. 200 Games (Men) -- Orv.
