Qualified No opinion ...+.50« Metropolitan OHA Junior "A" HOCKEY COLLINS SIDELINED 4 TO 6 WEEKS With Metro Junior "A" league play-offs less than a month away, the Whitby Mohawks appear 'to be headed for a precarious plight with thg loss of star centre Bill Collins, injured last Saturday night against St. Michael's in the first period. Collins, at the time, apparently suffered only a bruised knee, but medical examination yesterday morning by Dr. Kitchen at St. Joseph's hospital in Toronto determined torn knee ligaments. Such an injury will keep Collins out of action from four to six weeks, depending upon re- sponse to treatment. Collins will have further con- sultations tomorrow and possibly his leg will be plac- ed in a cast. At the moment it seems certain that Bill will not appear in any of the remaining six scheduled games. To say that the Mohawks will sur- vive the first round, with St. Mike's as probable op- position would be fictitious if Collins knee doesn't heal in time. An indication of the Collegian's super- ior strength was presented in a 7-3 victory last Sat- urday night. The majority of the damage was ap- plied in the final two periods with Collins retired to the dressing room. However, Julie Kowalski picked up the slack to lead the Mohawks to a 5-4 decision.
