(CP)--A com- mittee that will seek changes in the Ontario Labor Relations Act was formed Friday by Ontario Joint Council 22 of the Building Services Employees' Inter- national Union (CLC). Al Hearn of Toronto, Cana- dian vice-president of the inter- national union, said one change the union wants is in Section 89 of the act. He said the section gives a municipality or a board of the municipality--such as a hospital board--the right to pass a bylaw excluding itself from the act's jurisdiction. In effect, Mr. Hearn said, em- ployees of a hospital that passes this bylaw cannot become mem- bers of a certified union and cannot bargain collectively. The committee, comprising Mr. Hearn and four other offi- cials of the council, will hold its first meeting in London next month. Ray Pudas of Fort William was elected president of the council at the end of the three- day convention. Mrs. Kenneth Loucks of Belleville was chosen | Francis Durham, as a means of in- forming rural citizens of changes affecting farm properties es- pecially in assessment affairs.
