COPENHAGEN (Reuters) -- Danish industry is in for some unpleasant shocks if Denmark joins the European Common paige says a government re- port. 'It estimates that 20 per cent of all Danish industry will be iderably affected if the BELGIAN VOICE gian government has set up an information centre aimed mainly at informing other coun- tries about Belgium. Among the more immediate results of joihing would be in- creased competition and higher costs on home and export mar- kets, the report says. Steel scrap prices would go up by 50 to 100 per cent and coal, raw materials and raw plastics prices would also increase. Heavy demands for capital for industrialization and devel- opment may also cause con- cern, the report notes. Capital imports, even a on scale considered small by inter- national standards. would have considerable effect here. Den- mark has in the past imposed restrictions to prevent distur- bances by incoming "hot money"' and to preserve an in- dependent monetary policy. The government cites as other threatened industries: motor as- sembly plants; clothing and footwear, certain wood product and paper concerns, and pro- ducers of such consumer goods as refrigerators, bicycles, radio and television sets. According to some manufac- turers, Denmark's sensitivity to changes in the prices of raw materials will be the biggest danger ahead. ' Secondary markets, at pres- ent taking up 40 per cent'of all Denmark's industrial exports, will lose much of their impor- tance because of the Common Market's external tariff wall. ft me oe oe oe ee ee oe oe oe ee es eo es eo et ee ee ee 2 ae oe oe ow oe oe oe ee oe ow oe ee ow oe oe oe oe ee oe oe oe oe oe Por Economy "Boneless Rolled BEEF POTROAST ,,. 49° (Ideal for Cold Weather Meals) Maple Leaf Skinless SAUSAGE Plate" Maple Leaf Maple Leaf WIENERS BOLOG THE KING OF ROASTS (SHORT CUT CHEF STYLE) RED OR BLUE VALUE CHECK'D ss Ion STANDING Combination Dect ALL FOR 4.00 1-Lb, Troy Big Eight g Bony Skinless Sliced sh0 NA Seran Pkg.
