Certain areas, long famous as "produc- tive" hunting spots, produced complete blanks this year while other groups reported excellent success. It seems dignificant that the successful deer-hunting camps were mostly located in areas moderately close to "civilizza- tion" while the more distant sites were either completely ér practically devoid of success. Moose, not bothered by wolves nearly as much as deer, have been plentiful this year and numerous hunting camps bagged one or several moose, for the first time This season's hunting success -- or the lack of success --- in definite areas, may well produce a change in government regulations for next year. TORONTO ARGOS came through on Saturday with a team performance which has overnight stamped them as at least fifty-fifty choice to win the Big Four title this year and a berth in the Grey Cup final. Just 10 days ago, the Double Blue club was being counted out of the running. They had suffered a bad season of injuries to key players and their remaining stars had slipped. But now that they have polished off Ottawa Rough Riders, 1960 Grey Cup winners, the Argos have once again regained championship stature in the eyes of their faithful. It's true that Hamilton Tiger-Cats dominated the Big Four schedule and the grid season in the East to-date, but it's also true that Argos have "the bodies" --they «vere expected to win last year and didn't -- this year they are considered to be even stronger and with backs like Shatto, Mann and Gilchrist all healthy, plus their good receivers and Tobin Rote ready to run the ball once in a while, just to confuse the enemy, Argos must be rated as a.real threat.
