22 THE OSHAWA TIMES, Tuesday, November 14, 1961 Victoria Lodge LTB Helps Maintain Protestant Orphanage Victoria Loyal True Blue 55 is a Protestant organization in- stituted on March 17, 1902, and has a membership of around 90, composed of male and female, and it meets the first and third Tuesday nights in the Orange Temple, Bruce street. There is also a LTB Juvenile Lodge, Maple Leaf No. 2, com- posea of children from ages of 7 - 16 years with members_ of the Senior lodge as guardians. There are a great number of lodges from the East and West coasts and we have an annual convention of the Supreme Grand lodge which recently met in the City of North Bay for their 86th annual session. The chief interests of the Loyal True Blue Association is to care for the needy and help- less and also help to do our share te maintain the Loyal True Blue and Orange Home at Richmond Hill, which cares for Protestant children from ages of 3 to 16 years. Where the child has been bereaved of one or both parents and also broken homes. This {s a marvelous home with wonderful guidance. They have their own class rooms and teachers and as the children pass from Grade 8 attend the pag school in Richmond iil, To maintain this home we have in past three years held a tag day once a year with every penny being turned over to the Directors of the Home. But in recent years we felt our City has so many demands in way of tag days we cut it down te every other year. Our Association is very grate- ful to Oshawa Police Commis- sion for granting «:s this day for a job which we feel is well werth while.
