DAIRYMEN -- TEACHERSS In one of the hardest check- ing games of the season, the visiting teachers scored the win- of the game to gain a 2-1 edge and climb into sole possession of second place, two points more than their hosts, the Dairy- men. Kellington scored the first goal of the game from Dineen and Ritchey at 9.10 of the first period |to give the Teachers a 1-0 lead. The Dairymen, after missing ning goal in the last six minutes|p 7.50 however, to score, Tobin being the marksmen with Atters- ley and Whitney assisting. Then just two minutes later Tobin again clicked to make the score 7-1. Foote's Hurid from Mapes and Bishop gave them their sec- ond goal at 13.05 and Cosburn scored for Footes at 18.10 from Kemp and it appeared that Foote's still could make a come- ack, This never happened how- ever, as the Police, confident of their impressive lead, staved of all further attacks and won the game 7-3. They barely managed a 44 tie with New York Rangers on a goal by Don McKenney with 18 sec- onds left to play. "T've got a rookie team and it's going to be the best team in the world," Watson said. "I don't know which clubs we're going to beat out, but we're go- ing to make the playoffs. We're coming, getting better fast -- way ahead of schedule." There's no doubt the Bruins have improved. They could hardly have done anything else. In their first eight games, they lost seven and tied one. In five starts since, they have won two, tied two and lost one.
